I don't make new sounds, but I use (and attribute :) sounds from Freesound to build educational resources, which I offer for free download from my website. I'm retired, so I have the luxury of time to do something fun and share what I do with anyone who can use it. I couldn't do it without Freesound!

Having accurate ambient sounds and sound effects make the lessons and stories I write enormously more exciting for students than reading the same thing in a traditional book. Many of the young students who use the resources I create have physical challenges, including low vision. Being able to hear a rich and realistic soundscape while making virtual journeys and interacting with stories is especially important for them.

So I want to thank ALL of you who contribute to Freesound for creating this amazing sound resource! Your sound creations have benefited thousands of students. I've put a link to Freesound on my home page and written a post about it so that all the teachers, assistive technologists, and parents who use my site will know about it. You guys are the best!!!
