I generated a feedback loop with my Mackie mixer and a Boss digital delay stompbox and played it through a pair of cheap speakers in my large studio (a lot of reverb). Recorded it to MD with a Shure SM57 and captured it on my computer (M Audio 24/96). Processed in Soundforge. Pitched down and added some more reverb. Used spinner2 plug-in to give it a more spinning effect.
First the sound swells and starts twisting a bit,
after
that it becomes softer but starts howling. Then it dies out softly. In
the beginning there are some low frequencies; it's like the wind is
hitting something.
