Recorded in July 2002 when I was on a trip to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We start near the entrance of the store where the checkout is, walk around then we finish after we again pass the checkout. You actually hear the sound of me buying something, may have been a pack of Pokémon cards or something like that. You do hear some people speaking I believe Ukrainian there, as Edmonton does have a fair-sized Ukrainian population.
I cannot remember which exact store this is in Edmonton, but it was not a Walmart or Zellers.
I dedicate this to my friend Peter who was actually born in Edmonton, and it was his parents we stayed with during our trip. R.I.P. Pete.
Note: I did edit the sound from the original tape recording as near the end a few of us including myself, my Aunt Harriet, Peter and a living friend of mine are talking for about 30 or so seconds, but I did my best to seamlessly edit so that the jump won't be obvious.
it's called the beauty of sound.
