At least 2 or 3 local species of native frogs in my neighbours pond.
Recorded on a Sony PD170 Camcorder using a pair of Sennheiser MKH-416 Shotgun Condenser microphones in a crossed stereo configuration.
About 6 mtrs from the pond. Time was 10:15pm, December 2007 (Keep an ear out for the old Ford Truck passing)

Ahh... now I see what you mean about the Banjo, they do sound like a Banjo sting being plucked. Actually, they are Pobblebonks and native to my area 'Mt Evelyn' and they do sound just like that.

What a wonderful recording. I've never heard frogs playing the banjo before! It would be nice if somebody could identify these species by name.
Thanks for sharing,
