Friday noon ambience at Frankfurt's historic main square "Römerberg" recorded at 12:15. This is when the chimes of "St. Nikolai" play their two tunes: #1 "Lobe und preise den Herrn der Ehre" (Joachim Neander, 1679) and #2 "Es, es, es und es" (a traditional fare well song). The bells are charmingly out of tune. I should have recorded more, but ran out of tape. Other sounds: Some people in the background. Somebody riding his bike over the square.
October 2002. Mic: built-in Mic of a Sony PC100.
