I am building a timber-frame arbor from 6"x6" and 6"x8" juniper timbers using traditional techniques. I did a test-fit of one of the mortise & tenon joints for one of the braces and noticed that it made an interesting sound, so I grabbed my binaural setup and did some recording. Sound Professionals binaural mic on a fake head into Sony PCM-M10 recorder.
Mostly slow movements of the brace. It is getting pretty hard to move now. You can hear a thud when I am lifting both the brace and the beam and I let them drop.
