Here's a bit of aural chaos - 13 minutes of a distant wood chipper being used during a wind storm.
Where I live we have quite a few wind storms in the winter (at the west end of the Columbia River gorge in Washington state). So the wind has been blowing for two days, and this morning we awoke to the sound of a loud, strange machine. It turned out to be a large wood chipper being used in the yard of a house about 100 meters upwind. So I did what any reasonable person would do and set out my Sony PCM-M10 recorder on the front porch railing.
What you are hearing is the sound of the chipper being wafted back and forth by the wind, louder and softer. Occasionally a gust will drown out the chipper. Also a few commercial airliners pass by - the PDX airport is about 5 miles to the southwest.
This could be a lot of fun in the sound editor.
