Intended for headphone playback, some of these work quite well on external computer speakers, if placed at a wide angle and quite close. Speakers below eg. on the floor, or on the arms of an armchair, on either side and facing upwards also seem to work better for sounds sources behind and above, but not as well for side sources.
Koss KCS75 headphones have been found to work well for this, amongst budget 'phones. Generally immune to normal head movements,. Auditory image referenced to ground. No head-tracking or visual input required!
