I used to play a pink noise MP3 continuously when I'm sleeping as part of 'Sound Enrichment', which is recommended by many tinnitus therapists.
---
Normally if played on an MP3 player you can listen to an uninterrupted loop of sound. Media players on a PC usually stop and restart a sound even in continuous play mode.
Most of my first sounds here are generated using Audacity's white. pink or brown noise.
__________
If you use ear phones or head phones, please keep the volume down. Your hearing can be permanently damaged otherwise!
And, if you do have tinnitus, as I do, it's recommended that any background noises mustn't be so loud as to drown out your tinnitus, and preferably should be played through speakers.
Modern houses are most often too quiet, due to double glazing blocking all the smaller natural noises from outside. So always have at least a small window open if the weather permits it.
__________
I hope this sound will help out at least one or two others who suffer with tinnitus.

One thing I have learned about my own tinnitus is that I do let it depress me, and too often forget to set up my background noises.
(Note to self. (Must leave note to self.)) :¬)

This part is me rambling on about coloured sound.
Brownian noise/random walk noise, is actually a representation of a kind of continuous naturally random vibration that we never usually hear or notice.
Noise 'colours' can be generated by manipulating white noise, which is entirely artificial and totally random. But some of the manipulation, such as brown noise production, gives a small amount of order to the randomness. Makes it more natural. In my opinion. Just like fractals, probably.

Wikipedia:
Brown noise/red noise/random walk noise, is the kind of 'signal noise' produced by Brownian motion. Which was discovered by Robert Brown in 1827, when he was examining minute particles suspended in water, under a microscope, and observed them 'executing a continuous jittery motion'.
-
This type of continuous motion also happens in still air with floating dust particles.
-
These types of continuous motion have been more recently verified, and are called Brownian Motion. And the mathematics, the development of which dear old Albert Einstein played a major part, used to calculate those almost random movements, can apparently be used to produce Brownian noise. For my part I just click the buttons.
Therefore I/we are/am forced to conclude that Brownian/red/brown noise is the most natural sounding, er, artificial noise.
I also like brown gravy!
