Two different chisels (cold chisel and bolster chisel) being hammered and struck. A variety of modes of striking and holding the chisels are explored and these can be extracted from the complete sound file. Some sections reflect the sound produced when the tools are being used typically, in other sections I have tried to maximise the resonance time. The first half focusses on the narrow-tipped cold chisel which produces a lower pitch and the second half focusses on the broad-tipped bolster chisel which produces the higher pitch.
These sounds contain a lot of ultrasonic frequencies so I have recorded them at 192 kHz and using a Sennheiser MKH8040 to also capture these frequencies so they should yield well when played at a slower speed.
