a sound from underwater depths? a submarine? a metallic object hitting a sea-rock? this is an excerpt from experiment in modeling underwater sound environment and underwater listening experience. no recordings were used here. main sound generators for the underwater effect were frequency-modulated sinewaves with carefully tuned amplitude envelopes. these went through a fluctuating reverb effect and a custom-designed FFT-based filter. the repetitive metallic sound on top is basically whitenoise through a bank of bandpass filters, with some varying feedback leakage, delay and some other tweakings.
