my own associative sound theme for "earth" - an abstract synthetic soundscape which constantly move in the stereo-field and gradually evolves into a crescendo of noise. sound sources for this were different flavours of filtered noise, high-frequency modulated sinewaves and some chorusing oscillators. frequency of the sinewaves was varying as they went through a bank of fixed-freq resonators. noises were filtered with resonant highpass and lowpass filters, pitch shifted and then processed with granular principles. i used a spectral morphing algorithm to morph between the spectral content of the noise layers and create a constantly shifting texture. other manipulations included convolution of pure sinewaves with the frequency-modulated sinewaves, time-stretching, spectral filtering and delay/feedback. synthesis was done using Supercollider, additional editing in Peak.
