A whooper swan (Cygnus Cygnus) recorded autumn 2008 at Ojajärvi lake (Alajärvi, Finland) near midnight. It was dark, I did not actually see the swan, but it was right in front of me approximately 20-30 meters away. In the recording it is flying some 30-40 meters aside and then landing again on the water (you can hear a small "swoosh" in the end, just before the final notes).
There was no wind, so there is a nice echo. No extra echo added, there is only some eq, compression and noise reduction to make it as clear as possible and give you a glue of what a swan on a calm lake sounds like. (One can never quite catch it, you know.)

Thank you for making this recording available and under the terms given.
I have used it as part of the sound montage behind an arrangement of the Ainu traditional piece Retahcikah Haw.
