@jorickhoofd...i have no experience playing musical saw and hitting it seemed to give the cleanest sound.There's also a little rust just on the edge which damages the bow!Hope this helps.

May I ask how you got it so clean without bowing noise? Just cut it out? Or was it not bowed but hit?
