This is a little experiment. I had two stereo mics recording into two separate recorders. A rode NT4 into a Zoom 4 and an MS set up using a Sennheiser 416 paired with a MKH-30 staight into the Zoom H4n. The Rode NT4 was positioned by the lake, surrounded by wonderful frog sounds, the MS was 80 metres away from the lake. I rolled on both recorders and made a sync point with a loud clap near the Rode mic.
Using Reaper, i synced the two tracks, then did a very long cross fade (almost the duration of the track i.e. two minutes, twenty seconds.) In this piece the sound perspective travels from the distant mic to the lakeside mic. The idea being that i would create the sound illusion of moving closer to the lake.
