Bells ring at St. Benedict's Abbey in Atchison Kansas for the noon hour. I'm sitting on the steps facing Division Street between 2nd and 3rd. The bells begin to ring and I get up and slowly walk east to get a bit closer to the sound. You hear my cane tap a couple times in the background. Some traffic is heard on Division which is busy on a Saturday. You can hear a few crickets in the background. A crow caws in the distance near the beginning, a distant call from another bird is heard a bit later. Recorded in Goldwave with an Asus laptop in my backpack with Microsoft Lifecam 3000 poking out of a small compartment and clothespinned to the bag to cut down on noise when I walk. It has a borrowed sock on it to block out the wind. The only production is a (reduce peaks) with Goldwave's native compressor and raised the overall volume. This is part of a 40 minute walk I made from home to the Abbey and back to get a good recording of the bells. I'll post more of the walk later.

Thanks very much for the recording mate, gave it a good clean up and I'm using it as a church bell in a show i'm running.

Hey themerrybeggars that's cool! It certainly is, I've been inside a few times when they've had concerts and to hear my step-cousin's piano recital.
