Part of my late morning walk on August 31 with my long fiberglass NFB white cane, 3 block lengths of walking around the block. It starts on a broken sidewalk mostly covered by grass, so my cane is quiet. Then I hit normal sidewalk a bit before I turn on the first of 2 brick streets. At about 03:00 you start to hear some traffic on the busier of the 2 brick streets. They're not yellow brick roads, but Atchison Kansas is known for them. Birds, crickets, daytime cicadas and my cane hitting different things like sidewalk, leaves near the edge of the sidewalk, a big square trash can, and at 04:39, the top of a low brick wall which at 04:52 I sit down on for a minute. Some sort of heavy machinery can be heard in the far distance. I get back up and continue walking. I clip the recording just before I hit a rough spot that rattles my mic. Just before that a dog is barking in the distance. Recorded with Zoom IQ7 with IPhone SE2020 & Voice Memos, then edited from larger MP4 with Goldwave on the PC. The phone is in a case with a strap, I hold the phone with the top jammed against my stomach and the strap tight around my neck to limit vibrations on the mic. It was a bit breezy so the foam wind screen is on the Zoom.
