Under the oaks along sand path looking over estates. Two men on a cart with a horse approach and walk slowly behind me. The conversation turns to someone who likes to ride motorcycles and their delightful ride through the woods. It is a calm and peaceful scene. They talk only a little in the dialect of here. Occasionally the man pulls a little on the cart's old-fashioned brake, making a metallic scraping sound. The walking of the horse along the dirt track can hardly be heard.

It is a quiet autumn day in October on the edge of farmland with some organic cows and the oak forest. The area lies between Loonse and Drunense Dunes nature reserve and the village of Biezenmortel in the province of North Brabant in the southern part of the Netherlands.
The wealth of birds here is enormous; Great Tit, Eurasian Blue Tit, Eurasian Jay, Common Chaffinch, Goldcrest, European Robin, Crested Tit and the short calls and searching sound of the Great Spotted Woodpecker.
