Early spring day in Dutch pasture. In the background the hum of the city ‘s-Hertogenbosch and local traffic.
The exuberant song of the skylark you hear in this recording can be heard from great heights on beautiful spring days. The males perform spectacular song flights. First, they climb to a height of sometimes over a hundred meters, then they sing loudly as they descend, landing near the female.
