a glitch in the system is an opening. a malfunction creates a perceptual crack where the once inviolable and divine ordering of life is rendered for what it is: an edifice, produced and maintained through violence and cruelty, a thin veneer that papers over its gaping emptiness. To take the glitch as invitation to invent anew; this is the promise of field recording capital's detritus.
Recorded with a Tascam Dr100.
One sound taken from the 'Microblocks, vol.1' percussive found sound sample-pack. The sample-pack features 135 unique field recordings culled from the ordinary soundscapes of Santa Cruz, CA.
