An instrumental version of the "There's No Place Like Home" melody.
This is a historically accurate reenactment of how they played this song in the olden days.
The arrangement is from the June 1st, 1898 edition of S. S. Stewart's Banjo and Guitar Journal. It's an arrangement for guitar and mandolin. I used an American-made mandolin from 1900 and American-made guitar from 1890.

Thanks a lot for using this and for letting me know about it here.
It was surprisingly hard to play this archaic song on those unforgiving period instruments. Knowing that other people also get a kick out of it makes it worthwhile.

Love this! I'm just editing a film about the English White quail and I think it will fit well, in particular because I am also English and living abroad, so heavy on the pathos this time of year!!
I will come back here and post the link when it is up.
All the very best, Sue

This is nice, I'm downloading for a friend who has asked me for music to back a fund-raising video for a log cabin (possibly the oldest standing?) in Tennessee...they've recently received approval to put the place on a historic register, and are fund-raising to do restoration work!

Lovely sound! I used this in a fictitious "radio drama" (just playing around with the format): https://soundcloud.com/ea_ae/ep-1-remembrance-on-ice
