I recorded a viola for a theatre project. I recorded it in a dry room, close mic with a Neumann TLM103. Some samples are just noises of the bow on the C or D string, then once in a while creating overtones, other samples contain some processing with Echoboy by SoundToys. Amazing plugins they make!
