The moving water that can be heard in this recording was made by mallard ducklings repeatedly submerging themselves fully in the water and then bobbing to the surface (at the risk of being anthropomorphic, they appeared to be playing!). Other birds that can be heard are:
Common Chiffchaff
Eurasian Blackbird
Eurasian Blackcap
Common Cuckoo
European Robin
Common Wood Pigeon
Little Grebe
Mallard (parents of the ducklings)
Recorded at a large pond at Chigborough Lakes, Essex, UK on the morning of 14/05/2023.
This is a mono recording made with a parabolic dish fitted with a Lom mic attached to a Zoom F6. There is some aircraft noise, but it isn't too obtrusive.
