Recorded on International Dawn Chorus Day, 5th May 2014. The recording takes sounds from about 03:45 to 05:45. The worst of the road and aircraft noise has been cut out, which has reduced the length of the recording.
The recording has been made in Queens Park Country Park, Billericay, Essex, UK.
The recording starts with a nightingale and others join at around 14:35. Species that can be heard include the following (I may have missed some!):
Nightingale
Robin
Blackbird
Cuckoo
Wood Pigeon
Wren
Blackcap
Pheasant
Great tit
Canada goose (flying over)
Tawny owl
Chiffchaff
Carrion crow
The recording equipment used was an Olympus LS-14 and a pair of Uši microphones. These were setup and left overnight. The microphones were fixed either side of a tree trunk to aid stereo separation. Though this was recording from the time of setup (20:30 the evening before), only the files from the morning have been used as stated above.
