A junked upright piano sits in my yard, 15 feet away from the street curb. (Of course, I deliberately put it there:) It's been sitting there for about 3 years, occasionally shedding pieces of wood after seasonal changes, rain, etc. I occasionally record it, checking its detuning process. Sometimes, I'll play it with sticks, throw pine cones at it, stuff leaves and twigs between the strings. The samples here are just a small tidbit of what's played...perhaps I'll create an album entirely out of these recordings. Pardon the ambient sounds, but if you like it, perhaps I can synchronize my playing with (my backyard) eagle screeches when they choose to groove with me.
