The difference is that here the attacks are slightly smoothed out, and resonances and distortion with a slight crackle are added in certain frequency areas. In my opinion it's more realistic. Four takes in one pitch, and four takes in the other (these ones are a little less rough). Created on the ARP 2600 (Vst) synthesizer, followed by a long processing chain.
