The fire siren in Kinderhook NY. This is a fairly close recording of it and I was surprised by how loud it is, so the signal peaked my Tascam DR44WL. The onboard limiters did a good job and those peaks look and sound smooth to me.
Probably the best part of the sound is the wind-up and wind-down of the motor. Because it's so close, that almost "romantic" sound of sirens in the distance isn't present here.
The siren holds on the note "A".
