Recorded on a cold, wet september day during a break in the rainstorm. Sheltered by a short limestone cliff, I stopped to record by the dry creek. High winds came and went in the forest above, and small woodland creatures made little noises of protest. Crickets sang in the field across from me.
That is not mic hiss, but wind through broadleaf trees. The wind noise varies throughout the recording.
Recorded on Olympus LS-10 and my binaural rig: a set of paired omnidirectional mics with preamp sold by Church Audio, worn over my ears in a homemade windscreen that resembles a pair of earmuffs.
Recording date: Sept 8, 2012, 3:58 PM.
Recording location: A rural area in Greenbriar County, WV.
