WARNING: This is much quieter than the other tracks as it is in a sheltered location. The other tracks are recorded in the open, and they're a lot louder.
Recorded on a cold, wet september day during a break in the rainstorm. There was a chilly wind blowing, scattering droplets from the trees. Despite the rain, the creekbed was very low in water with just a few small pools. There were frogs singing in the woods, but there was enough wind to make recording difficult.
I found a sheltered location under a big maple tree, near a small pool, and sat, huddled against the cold, to record while a small water snake hunted in the pool.
Toward the end of the recording, a wind picks up, hissing through the forest on the hill above me.
Recorded on Olympus LS-10 and my binaural rig: a set of paired omnidirectional mics with preamp sold by Church Audio, worn over my ears in a homemade windscreen that resembles a pair of earmuffs.
Recording date: Sept 8, 2012, 3:53 PM.
Recording location: A rural area in Greenbriar County, WV.
