I reached a bend in the road and the woods rose to surround me on both sides. Thrushes sang in the trees below and ahead of me, and a light breeze whispered through the leaves. At this location, you can just hear the trickle of the stream far below. There are small sounds from the forest. An airplane flying overhead becomes audible shortly before I end the recording.
Recorded on Olympus LS-10 and my binaural rig: a set of paired omnidirectional mics with preamp sold by Church Audio, worn over my ears in a homemade windscreen that resembles a pair of earmuffs.
Recording date: July 15, 2013, early evening.
Recording location: A rural area in Greenbriar County, WV.
