timpano (kettle drum) played with a superball mallet. starts with a low note, then rises about a semitone, then back down and bends some. sounds sort of like a giant horn in a big hall. (this is an acoustic recording, no effects have been added! the apparent reverb is from the drum itself, not the room)

.flac is free lossless audio codec. It compresses the sound file with no loss to the quality. It's the same quality as .WAV with smaller file size. Audacity is a free program that can use .flac files.
