The battleship USS Iowa is now a museum, docked at San Pedro, California. After touring the ship--which was really interesting--I noticed and recorded these sounds. Where the ship's gangplank meets the pavement, the movement of the water causes the metal to scrape, pop and creak. Recorded 14 April 2014 using a Zoom H2.
