This is a 55cent (halftones) downpitched version of the SEP-10-2021-Cricket-Datablocks cricket recording. Like you take an audio tape and just slow the playback down. Not FFT transposed, just played very slow. No effects were added.
I was absolutely puzzled that the cricket sound seems to have some sort of reverb and delay in it given the transformed time-domain (that we normally do not recognize at the frequencies we can barely hear). It seems the short zz-zz-zz-zzzt we hear from a group of tiny insects who seem to be in perfect sync travels a very long way. (I guess they were 10-20 meters away)
