toiletrolltube: i am pleasantly surprised with a couple of your sounds. Also, i was desperately waiting for someone to give a sound with air blown into a bottle (or a tube of wrapping paper). Thank you for that! Alienxxx, are we going to have a separate discussion thread for dare 9?

Yes, we are. In fact, I will create it now.
The actual Dare thread (where I will tell you what we will do and what the rules are) will be posted on the 10th or 11th of Jan, after I close the samples submissions.
I have uploaded all my samples for the dare, the sound of a beer seems to be very popular
Cant wait to find out the rest of the dare....
@Puniho
Samples are approved. And what a great set of samples that is from just a ribbon! Thanks.
@All Freesounders
Deadline to submit your samples is 10pm today, GMT time.
If you submit any samples today please make a post here to let me know so i can approve them. Otherwise they will not be available for other freesounders to use.
Thank you.

NO MORE SAMPLES TO BE SUBMITTED FOR DARE 9, PLEASE

Waw! I am amazed: 134 sounds tagged as "dare-9"
Many thanks to all who have submitted sounds. I have moderated many of these and I know there are some really interesting and useful sounds there. I am inspired already!
EDIT:

Hi Puniho
The forums seem to be free of spam now.
Please post your entry on the correct thread so all can find it and you can get votes and reviews.
Thanks
Puniho,
You need to read the rules and instructions carefully, OK?
This thread was the initial one for the first part of the dare which was to record sounds with Christmas packaging or discarded objects.
I asked people to let me know when they posted sounds because when users upload sounds they go onto a moderation queue and are not visible to general users until they have been accepted by a moderator. I asked people to post here to let me know when they uploaded sounds so I could moderate them quickly.
At this point no one knew yet what else they would be asked to do...
... Then I closed the sounds submission and opened the second part of the dare here:
http://www.freesound.org/forum/dare-the-community/17747/
This is where people were actually told what the rules were with regards to using the sounds to make a piece.
OK... I accept it was a bit complicated...
And I know we were spam bombed so, it was difficult to find the right thread to post.
So what you need to do?
1) post on the thread above with the link to your piece.
EDIT - I found it again on the discussion thread, with all the samples used.
2) ATTRIBUTION - you must list all the samples you have used (here or on the soundcloud page. Both is even better)
EDIT: as above. Track + samples used posted on the discussion thread.
3) Make your track downloadable at soundcloud
4) Add your track to the Freesound Group that jgeraly created:
http://soundcloud.com/groups/freesound-dares
This is not a requirement of the dare, but you are kindly asked to do so. What it does is to make all dare entries from all participants, from all (recent) dares available in one place.
Thanks
Cesar
