Yayiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeee! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
I LIKE ZE DARE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ahem. Thanks so much AlienXXX!
Awesome! Some great sounds to play with. This will be fun
Just to clarify . . . the eight sounds plus one bonus sound from freesound. Process and mess with these, but only use these - no adding your own extra instruments etc?

Yes, that is the deal.
You can do as much processing to the sounds as you want, or none at all - it is up to you.
You should use all of the assigned samples (the samples of the day). You can use the bonus sample, if you want, but you don't have to.
No other sound sources can be used (no other samples, no VST instruments, etc).

AMEN!!
Puniho's sound is fab.
Also a quick question (not sure if I should put this in the feature request), but this dare makes me wonder if there's a way to know if your sound's ever been featured on the home page.

This dare is a real dare. Without vsti, hmm.
Ooooh yeah!!
EDITED:
Two of the sounds are sampling+ licenses.
http://www.freesound.org/people/Stomp/sounds/20416/
http://www.freesound.org/people/Richie086/sounds/51626/
Still allowed to use them?
Also, is it necessary to use all of the 8 sounds? Or can we select only the ones we like?
And finally, is Reason's Scream Distortion Unit allowed?
For the purpose of the dare, the 'sampling plus' license allows you to do the same as the 'attribution license'.
You can use the samples, but must give credit to the creator.
Any distortion, effect or processing of the samples is allowed. No limits.
I hope you manage to use all the samples, but if in the end you manage to include only some in your piece, then you should still submit.
I got a good beat started.. only have used

20416__stomp__nr2-bd21-08
123780__osh37__img-4330-60
179404__m3fuss__3gp
So umm half the sounds.. but you can't even tell them apart with the amount of distortion I ended up using x.x
Great. I like the sounds, gives nice possibilities.
Say, just to sum up. The entry must be musical, and are we still operating under the 2 - 4 minute-ish limit?
And we can hack and have the given sounds (plus one) just like we want 'em?
Thanks AlienXXX
This isn't that great... I never tried to make a "song" before... but I don't think it's that bad...

Actually 11linda, this is not bad at all!
However, this is the 'discussion' thread.
Please post on the main thread so that your entry is next to other entries and does not get 'lost'

Cool track. Since you have not uploaded to Soundcloud, I do not know if your webpage allows me to leave comments on the track.
I make them here instead.
Your track reminds me of sounds from War of the Worlds, although the effects used are clearly more modern.
Like what you have done with the DTMF sound and how you managed to make it fit in. I think it will be the most difficult sound for me to use in my piece.
Also like the sudden ending. A very simple but cool effect.
... @everyone else
How is it coming along guys and girls?
Still time to create and refine your pieces.
As for me, I would say that it has been a while since I had done this.
I found one of the most intersting things was to just mess around with some of the samples. - I had no idea where I was going to begin with. Then the different sounds that came out started to make sense all by themselves and the first draft of the piece began to appear.
I am still working on my piece, but have already sucessfully used 5 out of the 8 sounds.
Thanks AlienXXX
Actually I also uploaded it to my soundcloud
By the way, how is created a remix group of a sound? It would be interesting to see the remix groups of the sounds once the dare is over.
