Tried Reaper and found out that I really like it. For a sixty dollar basic license you get a ton of effects and, finally, a user interface that those of us without a musicology degree can figure out and actually produce sounds and mix in.
I'm producing nature environmental type soundscapes mixed with brainwave entrainment for meditation.
Reaper is easy and awesome, and there's still a lot of advanced features you can use later. FL Studio is nice too, but a little bit more difficult to navigate.
I also use Reaper for simple mixing actions. And well, if we talk about sound systems and audio interfaces, what exact hardware of audio interface do you prefer to use? I could find here some great models like Apogee Duet 2 and Apollo Twin. What would you choose between two of those? In my case, I want an interface to connect both Mac and Windows, when I need it.
