A perfect “freight train passing” sequence. A complete approach and departure starting with crossing alarm, and a few train whistles growing in loudness. The train was about 80 cars long. Listen all the way to the end to hear the bell stop as the train passes into the distance. Listen carefully and you can also hear the traffic blocking arm rising up. I got lucky here. I was in just the right place at the right time. Recorded on a Zoom H2 in Fort Langley, British Columbia, Canada.

Like mannhawks I was looking everywhere for railway crossing warning bells. This is perfect for the short grab I need for a sequence on a night sleeper crossing Europe in the 1950s.
