There is also one more possibility for you. Some of my customers wanted to use my work in their projects but they could not follow the attribution license
for various reasons (a small mobile game without credits or a live project).
So I sold them a non-exclusive license for particular sound for their particular project and granted this via email for a few dollars (via PayPal).
But also in this case the work based on this non-exclusive license cannot be copyrighted as well. You only get rid of appropriate credit and a link back to the original work.
Hope this help, have a nice day

Hi Victor,
as the Creative Commons Attribution license says, you must give appropriate credit and give a link to original work if you want to use someone else's work under this license.
You're used this soundscape in your track Cotton and you did not give appropriate credit and a link back to this work here on Freesound, so that was the violation of the Attribution license. Also this soundscape or any derivate based on this soundscape can't be copyrighted how it happened.
So if you want to use this soundscape (even commercially) for your own work, you must follow the rules of the Attribution licence as described here:
https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/.
As you might know the copyright claim on Audiam was released but I don't know, where else on the internet is your track Cotton without a link back to this original soundscape. So please, give a link back everywhere where you expose your work Cotton based on this soundscape or simply remove this one from your album.
Thank you for your reaction and I believe that was a misunderstanding of the licence and the copyright claim with Audiam was result of some service you used for the release your album on Bandcamp, ITunes, Amazon, Spotify and where else I have seen it.
Best,

Hi Thoribass,
I never made this copyright claim or stole any of your beautiful tracks, but because of Audiam's fingerprint of 'Cotton', your track was accidentally 'claimed'. I am very sorry for this, please let me know if everything is okay as it now is and thanks for your beautiful soundscape! Victor
