The sound of rather green leaves falling off a tree. It may sound like people or animals walking through the leaves, but, beside some passing cars and the neighbors making breakfast, leaves falling is the only source of sound. Recorded at sunrise, November 24th, 2007. Overnight was the first hard freeze of the season. I think the leaf stems froze solid, and when the sun rose and hit the tree, the stems thawed. Since the structure of the plant cells were destroyed during the freeze, when they thawed, the leaves started falling like rain. It was like a waterfall of leaves. I grabbed my Marantz pmd660 and At822 stereo mic and hit record. Some of the leaves struck the microphone. I've been playing this on 'loop' all morning. All the Best to all my fellow freesounders.

Thank you very much! Isn’t it funny? Almost all of the falling leaves sounds that I have downloaded so far including this one all sound like a bonfire. That’s fine with me because I also need bonfire sounds. I especially love the sounds of cars driving by and a far off siren. Great wav.
