British World war 2 Spitfire recorded at UK air museum flying past. EQ-ed a little as recording clipped but tried to keep realistic. Please feel free to critise EQ, I would be interested if you think it is too harsh (compare with spitfire taxi.mp3). Recorded using Olympus DM20 trimmed and EQed with Audacity.

This sample has been used in a non-commercial documentary covering footage of the battles at Dordrecht, Holland in 1940.
Thanks for the sounds,

Thanks a lot Mattew. Great sound.
Just what I needed for a short video I made for our Video Club competition. This showed how I built and flew an electric powered model Spitfire.I dubbed the real Merlin sound over the weedy electric motor noise which gave a much more realistic impression.
I will make a small donation to the Project.

Just downloaded Audacity...but how does that allow me to download this recording. Can't work out how that helps?

you don't need to get Quicktime pro - search for Audacity - brilliant piece software - opensource I think.
