A 30s sound clip of chickadees calling one another (or so it seems). You can hear the wing flapping of a bird nearby, as it approached me. Equipment used : Sony Minidisc (MZ NHF-800), binaural mics + preamp (www.visivoxtechnologies.com). Apparently, black-capped chickadees produce one of the most complex calls of the animal world! In fact, it is believed that they produce a warning call, then another call to identify themselves. For more info, google these keywords together : "chickadee complex call". Enjoy!

These birds are neat and will even go up to someone holding seed out, surprisingly. And yet I've seen them make the sounds in this wav when they sensed a cat stalking the feeder below. Thanks.
