This is a long recording of a full sequence of a thunderstorm in Limerick in Ireland. After a long heatwave, we finally had a really good thunderstorm that cleared the air. In the middle of the rain crescendo, you may hear a pitched resonance. This is caused by an unused PVC drainpipe laying on the ground about 2 meters from the microphone, and the rain hitting the surface of the pipe. Towards the end of the recording, as the thunder moves away, birds resume their normal afternoon birdsong.
