Layered car crash sound effect. Created using a noise box (Quality Street) filled with grit, broken glass and other bits and bobs. Also used a recording of a metal filing cabinet being hit for that metallic impact.

Perfect, thanks! I combined it with a car horn effect and you can hear it here, where I used it in a video: https://youtu.be/SDWuu6tzFS0?t=68

Well phreaking done! I thought it WERE a car crash recorded from somewhere! (Downloaded.) Thank you!
Want a good Snare drum sound, that I created back in the 90's?
Get a foil potato chip bag; a wooden spoon and a damn good mic. I've used a Shure SM58 for sampling for years.
8 BIT sampling preferred, for the extra digital harshness.
Centre the mic in the bag, closer to the bag edge. Smack the bag hard, with the wooden spoon. 200+ gram bag preferred.
A wonderful crunching meaty impact that ... well, back in the 90's anyways, it was great from Industrial / Progressive Industrial, that I was composing back then. ;)
