Recording of a single cricket very close, for good, clean signal-to-noise ratio. The cricket chirps 12 times in this sample. Recorded with small diaphragm condenser mics outdoors at night to a Sytek pre and a Gadget Labs Wav824 interface.

Hey, thanks. That reminds me that I recently used a Zoom H4n to evesdrop on a cricket in my backyard, then studied the sound some and tried to reproduce it synthetically. I'm going to add those files to this collection just in case anyone cares.
This one is real, clean, and surgical, still good for study. You may be right about noise reduction -- I did it so long before posting it here that I probably forgot what all I did. But if you want clean and "almost real", then the synthetic version might be better.

EXCELLENT recording!! Some sympathetic noise reduction on this - the side effects of which are easily removed by some simple gating.
Very clean indeed. Thanks.
