Multisamples should be classified as a single sound IMO. Though I dont see how it can be built into the system without some kind of uploader integrity.
I wanna see Jovica knocked off the top spot!
(sorry Jovica  )
its not a race... but I'm running
what is the purpose of 'top ten uploaders'?
i think we should sort of see it as a race. if people want to beat others in the amount of files then let it happen. more samples for us to use! I only hope the quality of the samples doesn't drop....
I'm guilty of glutting up my input by adding pretty much everything I recorded over the period of Sept/Nov/Dec... but i think in general it has resulted in the benefit of free sound.
My point is a petty one, and not relating to the purpose of freesound. (I still pull a face when I see 1: Jovica )
Why? They are diverse sounds - maybe lots of sounds with a very little difference, but still there is a difference!

I rest my battered and pock marked case
one thing i do have to say Walter (no that I'm being big headed) is you need to work on your descriptions...
does what is says on the tin
where? why? how? what?
my kitchen, I had eaten spinach curry the day before, held the mic to my butt, farted.
I will stop pollutiing the site with petit points, incomplete descriptions, and bad wind ops:
(in all seriousness, I thought a minimal description would be the most tasteful way to approach such a foul sound. Also, I apologise for the use of flavour related semantics in the previous sentence)
this thread is degenerating fast, but at the same time is funny
I'm not sure weather to tell you all to stop flaming, or to burst out in laughter ))))

walter, what you say is correct in some way, but how would you want me to count then? If I count all samples in a single pack as one, acclivity will have like "3 samples" as he uses backs to order things in "human" <=> "animal" .... There's no automatic way to do what you ask for. And damn, I'm not going to look at 30000 samples one by one

...well, I find the sample-count to be a motivating force...watch me run!
digifish
can you get in to the hallowed top ten? Chase me Chase me!!!
Bram, I see no way to practically apply what I demand. Maybe Jovica should just be banned?
Sample packs should not be classified one sound. Can there be a new class - multisamples? There would not be many to designate... only my arch rival with his boring reactor distortions....

"Probably the worst sample on the whole site. Utterly worthless."
it seems I should be banned also
HOLD EVERYTHING!!! If we light ourselves on fire we can go anywhere! (quote from sealab 2021)
Anyways:
Most huge annoying packs that are made of single drum hits and samples that look the exact same and sound similar! (I admit I've made at least one)
Anyways (again):
If bram or any other mods can make a thingy that compares the waveform shapes and stuff, and if they are very similar they be counted as one and fs'ers expand a button that shows them all.
Particularly drum hits because they are shaped like a flipped-over triangle, usually.
Particularly multisample instruments because they are usually shaped like warped rectangles, and often go right up to the decibel limit the whole time.
For example, see ANY file submitted by HardPCM.
Anyways that's my contribution to this subject, think it over, mods!
P.S. LMAO, walter, That sample is AMAZING! Ten out of ten from me!
hock: hock: hock:
Holy crap, we both have 69 posts. Excused me, but that is pretty damn weird :?
