Me trying to capture the sound of approaching footsteps in a small hallway with wooden floors and a high ceiling.
The shoes were dress shoes: black penny loafers. The field mic was placed directly on the floor on little pads beneath it. You can hear the squeak of the floorboards, for better or worse. Also, the sound was not EQd at all, just a little oZone compression and "sonic maximization".
This sound would be great for an intimate shot of footsteps approaching, however could also work for someone walking in during a shot of them. Normally this is all done AFTER video of course but figured I'd add it in case it's needed.

Thank you very much for this perfect sound of approaching footsteps. I used it in my animation about the life of Bach and I hope that you enjoy what I did with it. Credits in the end titles and in the video description.

Thank you so much for this sound. It's really good and the lack of ambient noise makes it easy to drop into a soundscape. I have used this sound effect in Release The Clowns Sketch Comedy Podcast Episode 68 among others (fully credited, of course). Find it here
